Karkkila’s Music and Art association’s main event, Sulattofestival 4.8. – 7.8.2011, has made the city of Karkkila known all over Finland. The fourth Sulattofestival offers a four day long and high quality event and a versatile programme performed by professional artists. Sulattofestival has renewed its’ homepage and other renewals are being planned, f.ex. Kamut’s office is going to be transformed into an info point and ticket office.

The programme is ready! It’s versatile and covers a wide range, where different cultures meet each other. Sulattofestival has become a permanently international festival and it surely is the most important town event in Karkkila, which is recognized worldwide. That’s going to guarantee visibility for Karkkila.

Two interesting and top quality artists have been booked from United States to be the main performers: Mitch Kashmar and Paul Oscher, and Dave Arcari from Scotland. The programme is variable: concerts, clubs, children’s events, tours and movies in co-operation with Aki Kaurismäki, f.ex. a silent movie with music composed to it, and ofcourse there’s the Women’s Sulatto with the crowd puller Marjo Leinonen.

The tickets can be bought starting from 2.5.2011 and they are available at Lippupalvelu, FMT Karkkila’s travel agency and Kamut ry/ Ramppe Pitkänen.

In September 2011 Kamut is going to organize a concert where Shakespeare sonnets, composed by Toni Edelmann, are heard. Sonnets are performed by singer Eeva-Kaarina Vilke in Finnish and in English. Also there will be musicians Kristian Attila, Sanna Salmenkallio, Mikko Perkola and Mikko Kujanpää performing. Concert is heard in Karkkilasali. More information about this later on.

In addition Kamut association organizes in 2011 f.ex. dance- poetry and other cultural events.
